Love Nikki Crafting Guide: What to Craft First

Written by Updated 1 November 2026

Crafting turns Gold, stage drops and Star Coins into whole suits, and then quietly asks for Diamonds. Prices below are full store price, with no pieces owned. The mistake to avoid is buying the first piece of a Diamond craft before you know the total.

1. Craft the free suits first

1. Craft the free suits first

Three Time Diary designs need no Diamonds at all: Fishing for Stars, Cinnamon and Osmanthus, and Lucky Journey. Every recipe in them runs on Gold-store pieces and Journey drops, so what they really cost is Stamina and farming time. Fishing for Stars also has a flying pose.

After those, finish what you have already started: free suits, recolours of chapter suits and Lifetime suits. Diamond crafting can wait until the next events are confirmed skips, or until you hold Diamonds beyond your event budget.

A common regret is spending the first 2,000 to 3,000 Diamonds on a missed Time Diary design before learning what events ask for. Price the events first, then craft with what is left.

2. Read the whole price before buying one piece

Recipes sit in two places. Starlight Store Designs are bought with Star Coins from the Arena, and Time Diary Designs open through the Time Diary. A tiered suit is crafted from pieces of an earlier suit, so that suit's cost comes first.

Put the suit you want into Momo's Guide. It tracks the earlier suits' materials as well, and pressing Buy without confirming shows the full Diamond total. Do this before every Diamond craft: the in-game total already counts your VIP discount and the pieces you own.

Those two things are why the totals players trade never match. VIP takes 5% off at level 1, 12% at 5, 25% at 9 and 35% from 13 on most store pieces, so a 300-Diamond suit costs 225 at VIP 9. Owned pieces matter more. Several designs tied to pavilions and two-pick-one events are cheap only if you already hold the event's free pieces. Blessed Time and Dancing Heart, crafted from nothing, cost 9,892 and 12,378 Diamonds, because each one's recipes call for the other suit's pieces.

3. Cheap Diamond suits

3. Cheap Diamond suits

These are the whole-suit totals at full price, owning nothing. Inner Melody is the cheapest full Diamond suit on the list and a good first one. Pragya Princess suits Cloud themes, with strong colours and a hair piece that works with much of the wardrobe. Silver Wish brings the Magpie Bridge, a large background piece. Leaf's Lyric, Golden String and Demon Huntress are the usual answers when someone asks for a pretty suit under about 1,000 Diamonds; Golden String passes that line at full price and drops under it with a VIP discount.

Demon Huntress is not crafted at all. Seven pieces sit in the Diamond store and two in the Gold store, so it can be bought in one visit. Daydreamer and Dream of Phantom slip under 1,000 only if you kept the free pieces from their events; from nothing they cost 1,794 and 2,672.

4. Tiered suits: price both halves

4. Tiered suits: price both halves

A tiered suit only looks affordable when you already own the suit beneath it. Count both halves before you start, and never buy the top suit's pieces while the lower suit is unfinished, since its recipes cannot be made yet.

Night Rose Bride is the one most often called worth it: the Night Castle background piece carries the suit by itself, and its pieces still show up in current outfits. Moon Justice makes sense once Red Nightmare is done. Caged Phantom has a standout dress and background, and Ingenius Magic, the suit it is built from, is worth owning in its own right.

Black Rose is the skip. It costs 2,160 more even after Soul Seer is complete, and outside its hair and makeup its pieces rarely leave the wardrobe.

5. Dreamward Train: two camps

5. Dreamward Train: two camps

Dreamward Train joined the global Recipe Workshop in 2026, and players are split on it. It is usually weighed against Sunlit Afternoon, another Time Diary design at nearly the same price: 2,781 Diamonds for Dreamward Train's 11 pieces against 2,696 for Sunlit Afternoon's 15.

The case for it: the hair and makeup get used often, the hosiery and wings mix well, and its background pieces fit fully on screen. The case against: its parts rarely make it into an outfit, and Hell Events offer better versions of the same ideas. Some who crafted it say they have not used a single piece since.

Sunlit Afternoon has its own split. It scores well in nature-themed Competitions and suits Starry Corridor builders, but its background pieces sit awkwardly and the pose includes a cat. Decide by the pieces you would wear, not by the suit as a whole.

6. What is safe to decompose

Decomposing a piece fills the Lost Casket; at 100 points it opens and can pay out Diamonds. The safe way to feed it is the Select extra clothes button. By the game's own rule it only picks pieces you own two or more of, always leaves one copy, and skips anything with a use icon: a craft material, a dye base, an evolution or a Dream Weaver commission item.

Of the pieces that can be decomposed, 6,610, a little over a third, carry no icon at all. Pieces without an icon are the ones you can clear without a second thought. The game also asks you to confirm before any 4-heart or rarer piece goes.

  1. Maiden 7-7 and 8-5 each drop two pieces, the second only on an S clear, and all four carry a craft icon. Select extra clothes will never pick them, so choose them by hand and keep what your recipes still need.
  2. A working rule from players who farm the casket: decompose 3-heart copies only above 100, and 4 to 5-heart copies above 50.
  3. Check Momo's Guide before clearing a stack you farmed for a recipe. The icon only says a piece is used somewhere, not how many copies you still need.
