When it switches out by choice, it hands its ATK and DEF stages to the Lumi coming in. Forced out by an enemy skill, it passes nothing.
Lumi Master/Lumis

At a glance
- Why this tier
The Variant follows Sandlord to A: the same Parting Gift hand-off, and Gloves Off raises ATK first on a tie, the better half for a hitter. It hits for 10 with 85 HP, and a forced swap passes nothing on.
Sandlord - Variant's skills
Fixed kit always on Sandlord - Variant, can't be swapped
Hits the current enemy with a pointer stick and raises whichever of this Lumi's ATK or DEF stage is lower by 2; if they are equal, ATK rises.
Its automatic attack: a Ground hit every 1.2s for 12 power. That is slower than most, so anything that triggers per hit rather than per point of damage fires less often here.
Swappable skills choose which one to equip
Hits the current enemy and switches out; the Lumi coming in gains +1 DEF stage.
Swaps Flicker skill effects and counts with the current enemy.
Hits the current enemy and switches out; the Lumi coming in gains +1 ATK stage.
Hits the current enemy, plus one extra hit for each positive DEF stage this Lumi holds; its DEF stages then reset to 0.
Casts a random Flicker skill. Builds no extra Flickergy.
Hits every enemy on the field with falling rock; +50% power when there is more than one target.
Skills marked "Used in official line-ups" are the ones the game's own in-client line-ups equip on Sandlord - Variant. See those line-ups.
How to use Sandlord - Variant
The Variant's Gloves Off raises ATK instead of DEF when its two stages are equal, so one 3-Energy cast is 2 ATK stages ready to hand to an attacker. Parting Gift still passes every stage to the next Lumi on a switch you choose, with no Baton Pass needed.
Like the base, it loses everything to a forced swap, and 85 ATK with 85 HP do nothing alone. Pick it over Sandlord when the receiver is a hitter like Flamblades or Bloom. Water, Grass, Ice and Brawler hit it for double.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
