Why this tier

Tadpuff is D as the first form of Echofrog, feeding Wave with Round early on 95 DEF and 95 HP. Echofrog is where the line gets good.

Its automatic attack: a Water hit every 1.1s for 11 power. That is slower than most, so anything that triggers per hit rather than per point of damage fires less often here.

How to use Tadpuff

Tadpuff already has Round, gaining a Wet every time its skills deal damage, which powers Wave. 95 DEF and 95 HP hold up for a first stage. 81 ATK is weak. Echofrog adds a signature that grows with each cast; evolve at Lv. 15, since that is where the line gets good.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
