How to use Ottermet

Ottermet brings the DEF: 97, with Helmet Bash rolling a 25% crit for 75 power. Otter-charged adds 5% per otter still standing on your side, so three otters together hit noticeably harder. 87 ATK is weak on its own. Ottersteel has the same DEF and builds DEF stages too, which makes it the better defensive otter.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
