On entering battle, lowers the current enemy's DEF by 2 stages.

Verdict
InvestBuild it as your Fire attacker, and play hit and switch, since it loses long trades.
- Why this tier
Every entry by Charigon lands a heavy Pierce hit through Draconic Terror and Dragon Rage on 110 ATK, which makes it the S-tier Fire pick of the current meta. At 86 HP with five double weaknesses it loses long trades, so hit and switch.

Charigon's skills
Fixed kit always on Charigon, can't be swapped
Breathes fire on the current enemy with 10% Pierce and applies 1 Burn to every Lumi in the enemy squad.
Its automatic attack: a Fire hit every 0.9s for 9 power. That is among the quickest on the roster, and since every basic attack in the game trades power for interval at the same rate, the short gap buys extra hits rather than extra damage — which is what per-hit effects key off.
Swappable skills choose which one to equip
Hits the current enemy and lowers its DEF by 1 stage. Every DEF stage it has lost gives this hit 20% Pierce.
Hits the current enemy with dragon fire and lowers its DEF by 1 stage.
Hits the current enemy and applies 2 Burn to it and 1 Burn to this Lumi.
Rams the current enemy. Costs 3 less Energy during Storm.
Hits the current enemy, lowers its DEF by 1 stage and switches out.
Rains fire on the current enemy with 15% to 35% Pierce, scaling with this Lumi's current HP (35% at full).
Skills marked "Used in official line-ups" are the ones the game's own in-client line-ups equip on Charigon. See those line-ups.
How to use Charigon
Charigon is worth the most the moment it arrives. Draconic Terror drops the enemy's DEF 2 stages on entry, and Dragon Rage then gains 20% Pierce for every DEF stage lost, so the best time to cast is right after switching in. Flaming Breath burns the whole enemy squad at 100 power, and 110 ATK backs it all up.
86 HP is the soft spot, though. Ground, Ice, Dragon, Fairy and Royal all hit it for double, so it loses long trades. The game's own line-ups run it with Dragon Rage, and so should you.
Teams with Charigon
- Puncheroo StormPvP · Arena ladder

A free-to-play team with an answer for each kind of opponent, chosen by who leads. Puncheroo punishes swap and baton teams, since Charged Punch hits every Lumi they bring in for free. Charigon is the neutral lead that strips 2 DEF on entry and follows with Dragon Rage. Regaffin sets its own Storm with Storm Strike, which makes Swift Storm 2 Energy cheaper and adds 50% crit rate.
- Free-to-Play Dragon RagePvP · Arena ladder

None of these three is a limited or pass Lumi, and there is no roar to learn. Rainbowdeer enters and Fortune cuts the enemy's ATK 2 stages. Call for Help then sends Charigon in with an ATK stage, and Draconic Terror strips 2 DEF stages from whatever it faces as it lands. Dragon Rage costs 5, takes a third stage and gains 20% Pierce for every stage the target has lost. Psykat sits on the bench: the first time one of your Lumi drops below half, Dreamy heals it 30% and puts the enemy to sleep.
- Dragon Roar Armour BreakPvP · Arena ladder

Every member cuts DEF, and two of them cash the cuts in with Dragon Rage. Charigon strips 2 DEF stages from the enemy as it enters, Bluesaur Goma's roar drags in their lowest-HP Lumi and Meowgon takes 1 stage off it on arrival, and each Dragon Rage lowers one more stage while gaining 20% Pierce for every stage already lost. Psykat opens by putting a sturdy enemy to sleep so the target can't swap out of the cuts.
- Storm & RegaffinIn-game line-up · Storm burst

Everything here serves Regaffin, and Regaffin needs Storm. While Storm is up, Flying and Dragon damage are 20% higher, Fast & Flurrious gives Regaffin 50% more crit rate, Swift Storm drops from 6 Energy to 4 and Dragon Charge from 8 to 5. Swift Storm lands five strikes and every one of them gets the crit bonus. Gambir sets the weather and Charigon strips the enemy's DEF before Regaffin arrives.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
