At a glance
- Why this tier
Loongster is A as an Arena closer: Rough Spot is one Water hit and one Fire hit for 6 Energy, and a super-effective one adds an ATK stage. Flamblades out-damages it and it has no healing, which keeps it under S.

How to use Loongster
Loongster rewards type matchups. Arrogant gives it 2 Wet and an ATK stage whenever its skill is super effective, and punishes super-effective hits on it with 2 Burn and an ATK drop. Rough Spot hits twice, once as Water and once as Fire, so one of the two often lands super effective. Only Electric and Ground hit it for double.
It has no healing and no answer to control, so bring it in late, against something Water or Fire hits for double. Flamblades still hits harder in a Fire slot.
Teams with Loongster
- Goma Pounce PairPvP · Arena ladder

This team is built around one hit. Goma Pounce is 80 power for 5 Energy, but with Little Red Peach alive on the team it drains her HP bar first and gains 20% damage for every 10% it takes, so a full bar adds 200%. She keeps that bar full herself: Sweet Peach heals her 15% for 3 Energy, and each skill that lands on her restores 5% of max HP to the whole squad. Loongster closes with Rough Spot, a Water hit and a Fire hit in one cast.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
