Why this tier

Muscledog is A as a wall that wants to be hit: each skill that lands adds a DEF stage through Bulky and heals 2% per stage, and Muscle Crush turns stages into crit rate. Cleansing Wind wipes it, and Cyclodoge has more DEF.

Muscledog's skills

Trait · passiveBulky

After being hit by a skill, gains +1 DEF stage, then heals 2% of its max HP for each DEF stage it holds.

Signature skillMuscle Crush

Hits the current enemy; while this Lumi's DEF stage is above 0, each stage adds 20% crit rate.

Basic attackMuscle Punch

Its automatic attack: a Brawler hit every 1.2s for 12 power. That is slower than most, so anything that triggers per hit rather than per point of damage fires less often here.

How to use Muscledog

Muscledog gets tougher every time a skill lands on it: Bulky adds a DEF stage and heals 2% per stage, and Muscle Crush gains 20% crit rate per DEF stage. 106 DEF makes it a good stand-in for Rochelon in the trap team, though it has no trap. 85 ATK is weak. Cyclodoge does the same job with 114 DEF.

Fighting one, don't feed it skills: reset its stages with Cleansing Wind, or roar it out, and it loses everything it built.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
