At a glance
- Why this tier
Jolkat is A as the Energy engine of Paralysis teams, with Static Field and Volt Absorption turning each Paralysis into spare Energy for the side. It needs Paralysis landed first, and Zaphound does the damage it can't.

How to use Jolkat
Jolkat opens the hazard rush team in the Arena with Static Field, a 3-Energy trap that paralyses anything stepping onto it. Volt Absorption then refunds a little Energy on every hit your side lands on a Paralyzed target, and Thunderclap refunds 1 more per Paralysis stack, so the plan pays for itself.
None of that works until Paralysis lands, and its signature tops out at 75 power. 98 HP keeps it alive long enough to set up, but Zaphound turns the same Paralysis into far more damage. Ground hits it for double.

A faster cousin of the poison trap team. Jolkat lays Static Field and Inferaze lays Fire Vortex, so every enemy that comes in picks up Paralysis and Burn on arrival, and Floragon's Dragon Roar keeps dragging new ones across. Volt Absorption gives your side 0.1 extra Energy for every attack on a Paralyzed target, and Inferaze's Flaming Body burns back anything that hits it with a skill while it carries Burn itself.

Each column is the species' own Min–Max range at its reference level — the exact spread the in-game Aptitude tab shows (an individual catch rolls somewhere inside it). See the Stat Rankings to sort the whole roster by any of these. Attack Speed is the Skill tab's Attack Interval: the seconds between automatic basic attacks, fixed per species, so lower is faster. Every basic attack deals the same damage per second, so a quicker one lands more hits rather than more damage, which is what on-hit effects care about. Each Swift stack speeds it up by 10% and each Paralysis stack slows it by 10%.
