How to use Vale
Vale's most useful work happens before anyone attacks. At the start of battle he gives Mana to himself and every adjacent ally, which brings his own first cast close and speeds up whichever carry sits beside him. Wind Blade then cuts two lines to either side of the target area, light damage that is most useful against a clustered front row.
Like most 1-Gold casters he is fragile, seventh of eight in 2-Star HP at his cost, and his damage falls behind quickly. Keep him in the back row next to the hero who needs mana most.
He counts for Echomancer and Mage. In our Echomancer comp he is the cheapest body, worth deploying early because deployed Echomancers bank Echo Energy every round. In Enchanted Tales / Mage he is early filler for the Mage count beside Zhuxin, Kadita and Vexana. Buy him early and two-star him; sell him when Gord or Odette arrives, unless the Echomancer count still needs him.

EchomancerEach match summons a Chrono Wanderer — a past-season 5-Gold hero, randomly Moskov, X.Borg or Gatotkaca. Deployed heroes bank Echo Energy at the start and end of each battle; every point raises the Skill Damage and HP of all Echomancers and the Wanderer by 0.03%. The Wanderer enters the fight at 100 energy, and reaching 300 / 600 / 999 for the first time hands out stage rewards.
MageEvery ally gains Magic ATK; Mages gain a much larger share.
