What Overgeared Hero is

Overgeared Hero: Merge RPG is a roguelike auto-battler played in a grid backpack. Each run you pick one hero, buy items from a four-slot shop between fights, place and rotate them in the backpack, and merge duplicates into stronger ones. Legendary items only come from merging. The hero then fights on its own, so everything you control happens in the shop and the layout.

Three things sit around the run and carry over: the gear you wear, which enters every backpack as starting items; up to three pets, whose actives you fire during a fight; and the heroes you own, each adding a small HP or ATK bonus to every run.

What to focus on first

Most strong runs are one of two builds. Burn, on the Primal Flame gear weapon with two Gloves of Plague, is the default. Spike, on Spiral Spear, is the answer to bosses burn can't beat. Level those two gear weapons before anything else.

For heroes, claim Bjorn while the collab still hands him out free, take Spark or Rebecca as your first Epic and Rose as your first Legendary you pull for, then put your Epic shards into Spark. For pets, Mimic and Red Dragon go on almost every run, and anything below Legendary lowers your stats, so don't slot it.
