Overgeared Hero: Merge RPG/Tier List

Overgeared Hero Tier List

overall value across a run — how build-defining the hero's skill and exclusive item are, and how far the archetype scales · updated 10 Oct 2026

How this tier list works

This list ranks heroes and pets by how much they add across general PvE: chapter pushes, the Tower of Trials and the daily dungeons. A hero ranks high when it clears a wide range of stages with the standard burn or spike gear, and drops when it needs a special layout or collapses against a common boss type. PvP and events are left out. Double Up sets every player's stats to the same values, so its picks say nothing about general strength.

The eight Rare pets are marked as estimates: they sit in D because pets below Legendary lower your combat stats, not because of a stage-by-stage comparison.

S10

Universally strong — worth building regardless of which modes you play.

A10

High value across most modes, or best-in-slot for a very common job.

B9

Strong within a role or a specific mode, and widely run there.

C11

Situational — a real niche, but not a general-purpose pick.

D11

Why the top picks are on top

Rose is the strongest hero for most of the game. Impale sends her Spike, Poison and Burn through Block, and Parting Rose executes once her Spike stacks are high enough, which carries an account to around Chapter 100. Raven takes over after that: he evades everything for the first 3 seconds, and his Shadow Hunter attacks twice after each dodge. Spark is the best Epic, locking enemies down with Stun, though Spike bosses punish her many small hits. Meow Mage earns S with a ramp that never caps, since every Spell hit adds Total ATK for the rest of the battle. Bjorn, the collab's free Legendary Warrior, sits one band below them in A. Gigantization and Flesh Burst turn the Max HP that Spike gear already stacks into damage, and his 4-star Skill Link lends Gigantization to every Warrior, but that damage takes time to build and short chapter fights end first. Pair him with Haste. Erwen, the collab's Legendary Ranger, is also A: her bow opens with 30 Swift and Chasing Arrow turns every 10 Swift into 3 Focus, but her Spirits arrive a stone at a time on rounds 1, 5 and 9.

Among pets, Mimic merges everything for 1 energy and helps every build. Red Dragon removes 40% of the enemy's Max HP at the start. Seiren's cushion is worth 200% of Max HP, White Wolf Captain hastes every weapon by 30%, Flora cleanses 10 debuffs every 4 seconds, and Geezer's discounted merged items are strong whenever the offer fits your build.

Best free-to-play picks

You don't need Legendary heroes to clear most chapters. Spark and Meow Mage are both Epic and both S tier, and Rebecca, also Epic, is A tier and turns Block into damage. Acrobat is the best Rare hero: 10 Dodge at the start and a damage bonus after each dodge cover much of what Raven does. Among pets, Blue Wolf stands in for White Wolf Captain and Fire Fox for Red Dragon, at Epic rarity.

What changed in this update

New on 10 October: Bjorn, the collab's Legendary Warrior placed on 9 October, moves from S to A. His damage rises with the Max HP he gains during a fight, and the fastest chapter builds finish in about ten seconds, before that pays off. Erwen, the collab's Legendary Ranger released on 29 September, joins the list in A the same day. Nothing else moved.

The full re-rank on 21 September moved several placements a long way. Spark and Meow Mage rose from B to S, Acrobat from C to A and Rebecca from B to A. Cecilia dropped from S to A, Talin and Darkan from A to B, and Venom from A to C, since her poison bonus depends on which slots happen to be enhanced. Kai, Lua and Sniper fell from B to C.

Pets changed even more. Mimic, Red Dragon, Seiren, Flora and White Wolf Captain all moved up to S, and Venomous Spider fell from S to B because its egg sacks take backpack space most builds can't spare. All the Rare pets now sit in D.

Where to invest first

Take Spark or Rebecca as your first Epic and Rose as your first Legendary, with Raven next. Put Epic shards into Spark until 3 or 4 stars. When an exchange shop offers Legendary hero shards, take them over a pet, unless the pet is Geezer and you don't own him. For pets, level Mimic and Red Dragon first, and fill every slot with Legendary or Mythic pets as soon as you can.
